The two options for beginners are The NAUI openwater scuba diver or try scuba programs. For someone who is looking to get certified and continue diving or go on a vacation I would recommend the NAUI openwater program and is the first non-supervised diving certification. For someone who is on the fence, would like to try it once or if you are looking for an inexpensive gift for a friend or family member the try scuba experience is the way to go.
Class scheduling is done by the instructor teaching the class and is based on their availability/schedule. Typically, classes will be scheduled on weekends especially if you will be using a dive boat for the class. If you have any specific scheduling requirements or time restraints reach out to use so we can try our best to accommodate.
Please note for all classes a minimum required number of students is needed to run the class this is typically at least two students. Private classes are available at additional cost if you want a one on one experience.
We will aim to reach out to you within 48 hours with an e-learning code and will explain the process.
Once you have your e-learning code, you will need to go to naui.org and either create an account or sign in. Once you have an account you can activate your e-learning and start your class.
We will also send over some paperwork that needs to be filled out this includes a medical and liability wavier follow the instructions on the form and either email a copy to us or bring a hard copy on the first day of in person instruction.
Once you have activated your e-learning and received your paperwork you will be assigned an instructor (typically Joe).
E-learning is online content designed by the training agency (usually NAUI) which covers the theoretical content and learning objectives needed in your class. It is designed to be engaging and has options for all learning styles. E-learning content will be reviewed by your instructor during in person instruction and will be built upon in the water. If you have any questions about your e-learning we can answer any questions you might have either in class or before.
Globally! Our classes are ran by National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) members which is an internationally recognized training agency with the same recognition as agencies like PADI, SDI, SSI and more.
NAUI stands for the National Association of Underwater Instructors. NAUI is the training agency which our instructors and dive professionals hold membership through and have graduated from a NAUI approved course as well as continues to meet their requirements for membership renewal each year. This membership as well as holding a current liability insurance policy is what allows our dive professionals to teach you and run NAUI classes.
NAUI is internationally accredited so your certification will be valid anywhere in the world.
All students with a NAUI certification will be given a digital e-card which is available to view on the NAUI app and website (NAUI.org). This acts as your proof of certification and will be recognized by dive boats, shops and instructors.
Physical cards can be purchased at additional cost.
As of 12/31/2025 $200 per person however the cost is set by the dive boat we are using this is usually the Sundiver out of long beach. Boat fees are typically excluded from the cost of a class unless specified e.g. couples packages. If excluded from the class the individual student will be responsible for the purchase of their ticket and then the instructors boat ticket will be the equal responsibility of all students in the class. (e.g. if boat ticket is $200 and there are 4 students each student shall pay an additional $50 for the boat ticket of the instructor)
Classes that will use the boat at least once are:
NAUI Openwater Scuba Diver (So students experience boat & shore diving)
NAUI Advanced Openwater (Needed for the deep dive)
NAUI Master Scuba Diver (Needed for the deep/simulated deco dive)
NAUI Deep Diver (Needed for the deep dives)
NAUI Wreck Diver (Most wrecks are only accessible by boat)
Our couples packages are all inclusive packages designed perfectly for couples. Whether it is a fun date night, a class you wanted to take with just you two and an instructor or you and a friend were trying to save some money this is the ideal package for you.
1 year from the date of sign up or until class price increase (whichever is more). If for some reason you have not taken the class by that point to re-enroll you would just pay the difference between the price paid and the current price to continue. If it has been over 1 year you also forfeit your right for a refund as per the refund policy.
If there is an unforeseen circumstance both these rules may be waived at the discretion of the lead instructor. Some factors considered when making this decision are class availability over the last year, personal/family emergencies, health issues, military deployment/training and other factors outside of personal control which would affect your ability to take the class.
